Because products cannot be added to or removed from your inventory while it is being counted, completing an inventory count in as little time as possible while maintaining its integrity is crucial to keeping your business running.
Stock Capture is a mobile-based stock count solution that allows businesses to automate the stock capture process across various facilities. The application allows a scanner-enabled handheld system to capture inventory on the shop floor, warehouse, and fields based on position and rack.
The system allows you to review the captured stock on the HHT so that any adjustments may be made on the fly.
A PC module will be included in the Stock Capture System to compile master data for each HHT, consolidate data from many HHTs, and generate variance and other management reports.
You should execute inventory counts when your inventory activity is at its lowest. Maybe during the off-season or on a weekend. Items cannot be transferred, moved into, or out of inventory while the inventory is being counted. The procedure must be followed without interruption.
Following the completion of the count, the objects that were counted must be matched up against your system by an impartial individual. This process can be automated by using inventory software. Any discrepancies in your inventory count should be evaluated by a counting team, preferably one that is not the same as the team that did the counting. For example, the team that counted things in Zone A can investigate discrepancies in Zone B, and the team in Zone B can do the same.
When all inconsistencies have been resolved, your physical inventory is complete, and you can resume your everyday operations. Make a note of any inventory modifications you make for accounting purposes.
